1. Wash your hands and clean your breast with water or with the convenient Chicco cleaning wipes.
2. To improve milk flow, take a hot shower or apply a warm cloth on the breast shortly before extracting milk or breastfeeding.
3. Sit in a comfortable and relaxed position.
4. Fit the cup tightly on the breast, making sure that the nipple is well centered. The breast pump can be used with or without the soft silicone protection. It is advisable to try both methods and choose the one that is most suitable and comfortable for you.
5. Gently press the handle until you feel suction on the breast, and release it. You can adjust the pressure of the handle based on the level of traction felt on the breast or the milk output. It may not be necessary to press the handle all the way down.
6. Start with faster movements, pressing and releasing the handle, to stimulate milk extraction (initial stimulation phase). Then, when milk starts to come out, perform slower movements, keeping the handle pressed for 1-2 seconds, and then release it (extraction phase). You can alternate milk extraction from both breasts.
7. To give the milk to the baby, apply the retaining ring/cap and the nipple on the bottle. This way, you will have a convenient bottle (Well-being or Step Up New), ready to use.
8. If you want to store the milk, close the bottle with the practical airtight cap (included in the package). You can keep the extracted milk in the fridge for a maximum of 48 hours or up to 3 months in the freezer.
