1. Check the expiration date.

2. Handle or apply the condom carefully, to avoid tearing it with nails or sharp objects.

3. Remove the condom from its pouch, squeeze the tip and place the condom on the erect penis. Unroll the condom all the way down with the other hand.

4. If during sexual intercourse you feel the condom is slipping off or coming off, stop and check its status, as this increases the risk of breakage.

5. After removal, while the penis is still erect, hold the base of the condom and withdraw without spilling any semen.
